We have a large management portfolio of retail parades and neighbourhood shopping centres throughout the UK. These parades provide a range of convenience products and services for their local communities and destination retail functions, attracting customers from further afield. With our proactive asset management we maintain good tenant retail mix, sustain rental growth and keep vacant units to a minimum. Retailers have faced challenging competition over the years, either through online shopping or regional shopping centres. Neighbourhood retail has been sustained – flourished in some instances- with changes in trades and users, to meet the needs of the local communities. Our active asset management has developed during the pandemic. Through good communication, and working with landlords and tenants, we have managed to maintain over 90% of rental income, for more than 500 retail occupiers. We assessed that, during the pandemic, people came out of shopping centres and away from online shopping. Instead, they supported their local community shopping parades. We enjoy what we do, we help to build strong, sustainable commercial assets, serving local communities, landlords and their tenants. |
